Abstract

Autistic children are often motivated in their communication behavior by pets or toys. Our aim is to investigate, how
communication with “intelligent“ systems affects the interaction of children with untypical development. Natural language
processing is intended to be used in toys to talk to children. This challenging Háblame-project (as part of the EU-funded
Gaviota project) is just starting. We will discuss verification of its premises and its potentials, and outline the technical
solution.
