QRP - AWR Bulletin Relaunch

01/22/2022

The editors, the Association for the Study of the World Refugee Problem (AWR) and the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS) proudly announce the relaunch of the Quarterly on Refugee Problems (QRP) - AWR Bulletin.

The Quarterly on Refugee Problems – AWR Bulletin (QRP) is the official journal of the Association for the Study of the World Refugee Problem (AWR) for the dissemination of findings on migration issues. It fosters the global, interdisciplinary discourse between academics and practitioners to provide theoretical and practical answers to questions related to forced or voluntary migration.

QRP combines high quality, peer reviewed scientific articles and application oriented contributions from the field with the intention to create the necessary impact and momentum needed to solve the related practical problems. Since its establishment about seven decades ago, it has been a pioneer international journal uniting scholars and practitioners from all fields. QRP provides a unique platform for a wholistic analyzis of one of the most pressing topics on the humanitarian and political agenda.

Since 2022 the QRP is published as an open access, peer reviewed online journal in English language. Its predecessor was named “Integration” (1954-1962) and transferred into the “AWR Bulletin - Vierteljahresschrift für Flüchtlingsfragen/Revue triestrielle des problèmes des réfugiés/Quarterly on Refugee Problems/Rivista trimestrale sui problemi die rifugiati” (1963-2003 published by Wilhelm-Braumüller Verlagsbuchhandlung, Vienna; 2004-2012 published by Berliner Wissenschafts-Verlag, Berlin). 2013-2021 its publication was suspended.

An extension of a long-lasting partnership between AWR and FHWS made it possible to move QRP from a traditional print journal to an open access online journal. Special thanks go to the FHWS Library Team (namely Director Jens Renner, Mr. Lukas Burkhardt, Mr. Benjamin Heil) for their visionary and pioneering logistical and technical assistance, the FWHS Institute for Applied Social Sciences (IFAS; namely Prof. Dr. Hannah Reich) for taking editorial co-responsibility, and the FHWS Presidency for their trust in AWR and the potentials of this journal.
